Set your lasers to 100% and shields at normal, use full throttle and set lasers to dual fire. You can hit mines at over 1 klick but it is easier the nearer you get, the trick is to keep moving and not flying in a straight line for long periods. Keep transfering power from lasers to shields as you only need the minimum charge to "kill" a mine, don't forget to keep balancing out your shields (hit "S" three times). Use your "Radars", remember the brighter the dot the nearer the object, so instead of locking onto the mines with the "T" key use the Radar, it is much faster.
