Bio:
Hyp's first recollections of life are on the planet Arah, mining the mineral Derillium for the Empire as a slave. Hyp never knew his
family, friends, home planet or even his name. It was many years before he would ever find anything out about his past.
It was Hyp's life to be a slave. The Empire was ruthless, pushing them to the limit. They were never informed about their pasts...since he never knew his name, Hyp received his nickname by his number stitched on his uniform -- 197-HYP. If there was any advantage to being a slave for the Empire, it was growing up around so many different languages. There were slaves from every part of the galaxy working with him. Learning from an early age, Hyp caught on very quickly. In fact, as a child, he was known to start a sentence in one language and end it in another!
Hyp's one true friend was a Wookiee named Hachuttaa. Always there to protect him, Hachuttaa never would leave his side. They cultivated a strong bond and Hyp considered him his only family.
The most tragic day in Hyp's life was when he lost Hachuttaa. Hyp was being beaten severely by an Imperial slave master for "not working to potential". Hachuttaa, unable to bare watching his friend in pain, stepped in. In the ensuing scuffle, Hachuttaa and Hyp killed the Imperial. Hachuttaa took the rap for it and was dragged away by a troop of Imperial grunts, never to be seen again.
The turning point came when the group of slaves Hyp was a part of were loaded upon the ship "Arkanian Dawn", bound for the Arkania system, known for it's large diamond mines. Hyp feared years of forced labor in diamond mines. But fortune had, for once, shined on Hyp as the owner of the ship was Thila, a secret Rebel agent, and the slaves were escorted to freedom. The best part about it, however, was that Thila had retained all records the Empire has on the slaves! Hyp was able to learn his name, age, his home planet (Abbaji, a rain forest covered planet), and that he did have one surviving relative: a brother name Christopher.
Hyp spent the next year doing support work for the Rebels. He helped distribute the pamphlet "A Call to Reason" (while relating the evils he had seen with his own eyes) and aided in the clean-up effort on Empire-attacked planets. He proved himself very handy with a blaster and rifle. And his piloting skills were exceptional. His working knowledge of computer programming was a product of his intense study. But he felt that some of his potential skills were going to waste.
So, he applied to the Starfighter Command to fly against the Empire. The rest is history. Hoping to one day find his lost brother and avenge the hate and death he had seen the Empire deal, Hyp continues to faithfully serve the Rebel Alliance.
