Background:

The Waverunner, like most Mon Calamari ships, was originally a city ship that was retrofitted for war by the Mon Calamari shipwrights after the occupation of Mon Cala by the Empire. It was lightly armored, which was the only drawback to an otherwise deadly design. Thankfully, the hearty Mon Calamari shielding system shores up this weakness, which was necessary to allow the ship to keep up with and sometimes overtake snub fighters at sublight speeds.

Two forward facing torpedo launchers make this ship a battering ram when charging capital ships. Coupled with ample turbolaser coverage on the port and starboard flanks, the MC30c can punch above its weight class.

An aft-facing cluster bomb launcher rounds out this supercharged mid-sized ship, forcing attacking squadrons to approach from the front or sides where they are sure to run into walls of light.

When the Vigilant Taskforce was stood up, it was a no brainer to add one of these surprisingly deadly ships to the fleet for added firepower to allow the Vigilant to handle more missions without other capital ship support. With the creatively daring Piv Vootala at the helm, pity the Imperials that attempt to take it in a brawl.
